I have been fortunate enough to design wedding invitations for a number of my friends and family. Sara and Ryan had two ceremonies, so it meant double the wedding stationary. But, that's okay--because they were so great to work with (Sara is an amazing cook and their fridge is always stocked with adult beverages)!
Sara and Ryan were the first ones to send out my boarding pass save the date. I designed it especially for their wedding, and it's become one of my most popular designs. It's such a different and fun way to announce a destination wedding--and the graphic in the corner can easily be switched out to suit the ceremony location.

Their passes had a lot of information, so they did two pages. I flooded the back with a pattern of the tropical flower and designed a custom wrap around label. Standard passes are one page, and printed one side--but if you like it like this, just ask!
Next up, the Mexico wedding invitation. Because there were going to be many pieces and parts, I designed this piece to be held together with a pocketfolder. The inserts included a list of events (snorkeling and a dinner on the beach!) and some important spanish translations (such as "Congratulations Ryan and Sara!") and the RSVP postcard. I named this invite "Ka-Bloom!" because of the punch of color you see when the invite is opened.

Once they returned from exchanging their vows in Mexico, Sara and Ryan had a celebration in their hometown. It was important to them to send out a save the date, so that all guests felt like they were a part of their big day--even if they didn't make the trek to Mexico. Sara decorated the tables in beautiful Mexico decor and arranged Peonies on the tables. The guests received this "teaser" in the mail:

And finally, the best for last! Their hometown reception invitation, "Blooms and Stripes." This is one of my favorite designs, I love the contrast of the stripes with the bold blooms. The colors can be changed to match any wedding theme--but these look so nice together!

Here's what Sara has to say:
Marit did both save the date's and invitations for our Mexican wedding and our stateside reception this past summer. She was a pleasure to work with and the finished products were absolutely perfect! I didn't really have a vision in my head when we began of what I wanted, so I know that I was a difficult customer. Marit would send me small design elements and colors to help determine what I liked and always came up with the perfect thing. I didn't really want all of the elements to be of the same theme and as a result each piece she did for us was completely unique. Since we were having a destination wedding she had the brilliant idea to make a "boarding pass" style save the date that looked like a plane ticket! We used more traditional styles for the formal invitation as well as our stateside save the date and invitation. Marit had great ideas for keeping costs under control and was able to make suggestions tailored to our budget. Her work (and her personality!) is fun and vibrant, and the pieces she designed for us have become treasured mementos. They were so beautiful that a friend commissioned a custom piece of art for us as a wedding gift that was made from all of the pieces Marit designed!
